Reaxys Release Notes
Last updated on December 03, 2025Clearer topology visualization: When customizing a route, by adding a new step (A) the Multi-step reactions are now displayed more distinctly in the topology view (B), giving users an early and intuitive understanding of how convergent multi-step routes are organized.

Improved differentiation in the Tree View: Multi-step reactions are visually distinguished (C) from single-step reactions, making them easier to identify at a glance. These may be viewed/inserted in the original scheme (D) by selecting ‘view/insert Scheme’ (E) from the conditions box.

Upon clicking the ‘view/insert Scheme’ (E in above), Reaxys now allows inserting multistep scheme into the tree view through the ‘Insert Multi-step Scheme button (F), removing the need to add each single-step manually and speeding up route expansion.

The Multi-step scheme (G) is inserted to the Original scheme (D) and the topology of the Multi-step scheme (H) is highlighted and added next to the that of the Original scheme (I). The conditions (J) for each of the step in the Multi-step scheme is also added in the conditions box.

Enhanced multi-step reaction navigation for more efficient synthesis planning
Reaxys supports multi-step reactions by linking together single-step transformations that are reported within the same publication. This means users can discover complete reaction pathways even when the exact starting materials and final product never appear together in any single reported step.
In this release, we have improved the way multi-step reactions are displayed and navigated in the Tree View, helping you understand synthesis pathways more quickly and explore supporting evidence with greater ease.
What’s New:
These enhancements reduce the cognitive effort required to interpret complex reaction sequences, enabling you to explore, compare, and evaluate synthetic options more efficiently.
