Reaxys AI search: Document discovery through natural language querying release notes for July 2025

In this release we are excited to introduce Reaxys AI Search, your new tool designed to explore chemistry literature using natural language queries. This early AI-supported improvement aims to make Reaxys search smarter and more intuitive for chemists of all experience levels and research areas. It marks the first step in a series of planned AI enhancements for Reaxys. Currently, it is available to all registered users.

What’s New?

With Reaxys AI Search you can ask chemistry questions in plain English just as you would when speaking with a colleague without needing complex keywords or syntax. The system searches through over 121 million documents including 46 million patents covering every area of chemistry. It goes beyond simple keyword matching by understanding scientific terms synonyms and variations to deliver results that match your intent. Reaxys AI Search can handle complex queries and provide relevant responses tailored to your question, drawn solely from trusted Reaxys content. Each result includes a confidence score from zero to one to help you quickly assess relevance during this early phase. Please note Reaxys AI Search does not generate new content or summaries and all results come from existing literature.

How It Works?

Reaxys AI Search uses an AI model trained in chemistry literature to match your query with relevant documents by understanding meaning and context.

Example

Search for “application of the PARP inhibitor Olaparib for cancer therapy” (A) and get results that include the exact terms (B), recognized synonyms (C), and relevant variations (D). You can easily export the search results as a CSV file (E) for further use.
