How do I sign in to Editorial Manager?
Last updated on January 23, 2023To sign in to Editorial Manager (EM), you’re required to have an account for that journal.
How
There are fields to enter your ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ on the EM start page. To locate an EM site, see How do I find and access my submission system?
- On the start page, in the login box, enter your username and password. See screenshot.
- Either select 'Enter' to log into your default role, or select the role button to log into a specific role: Author, Reviewer, Editor, or Publisher.
- If you do not remember your username and/or password, you can select 'Send Login Details' and enter your email address. You will receive a link to a page where you can reset your password.
- If you are new to the site, you can select 'Register Now' to register as a new user. This will create a new local account only valid for this Editorial Manager site.
After login you will be directed to your default Main Menu page, usually the Author Main Menu page. If you also have a role as Reviewer and/or Editor, you can use the role change pull-down menu in the navigation bar to select the relevant role Main Menu page. You can set your default Main Page in your personal details page via the 'Update my Information' link on the menu.
For example, a link to Accept or Decline a Reviewer invitation.
To avoid potential errors, log out of any EM sites in your browser before selecting such a link.
After selecting email link:
- If you have logged into this journal in the past at the same email address, you will be immediately logged in and directed to a specific page based on the link in your email.
- If you have not logged into this site before at this email address, you will be prompted to create a password, agree to the Privacy Policy, and complete required login information. After that, you will be directed to a specific page based on the link in your email.
Direct email links are generally set to expire after one use for security. If you receive a message that the link has expired, simply select the 'Login' link in the top menu of the page and log in to your main menu.
