What can I do if I have Editorial Manager profiles registered to different email addresses?
Last updated on July 31, 2024Watch this short video to see how to merge your accounts.
If you use, or have used, different email addresses in an Editorial Manager journal, you may have multiple accounts/profiles. This sometimes makes it difficult to remember all the email addresses and passwords associated with them, or to determine which account has been assigned to a submission.
Multiple profiles for a user are created in Editorial Manager for various reasons:
- During peer review, Editors locate potential reviewers in various ways, and may find alternate email addresses online or via your publication history.
- By sending a reviewer invitation to an unregistered email address, an account is created that would be activated only if you complete registration.
- Co-authors may be added during submission with an alternate email address. You may then register an account for that alternate address during the co-author verification process.
- Historical reviews and submissions may have been done via older email addresses.
In each Editorial Manager journal, we are able to merge your accounts under a single profile. The benefits of merging include:
- All invitations and correspondence from that journal sent to your preferred email address.
- One username and password for you to recall.
- All history in the journal is combined in one account.
Each journal in Editorial Manager has a separate user database, and accounts merged for one journal do not affect t other journals.
