How do I find and access my journal's submission system?
Last updated on August 21, 2025Watch this short video to see how to find and access your journal’s submission system.
Most journals have their own page where you can login directly to submit and track your article, to review an article, or to act as an editor for the journal. This page can be accessed through the journal’s homepage on elsevier.com.
Elsevier's main submission system is Editorial Manager, and each journal has a direct link such as editorialmanager.com/xxxxx.

How?
Select a method below for the steps to locate your journal's submission page.
Most messages sent by any online submission system will include at least one link back to the site, although it is possible for an email to be customized and sent without links.
- Use the most recent email you have from the journal.
- Before clicking such a link, check that you do not already have the site open in your browser. Some links will fail if you are already logged in.
- Some 'deep' links are meant to log into the site and take you directly to an action or submission.
- Deep links expire after one use, or after a set number of days.
- If you click on an expired deep link you will arrive at an error page. From there you will have a link to the login page.
- For login help see How do I sign in to Editorial Manager?
- To bookmark the site for later, we recommend logging out and bookmarking the login page.
If you do not have a recent email from the journal with a link to the submission site, you can reach the active submission site for the journal via the journal homepage.
- Go to the journal homepage.
- If you don't know how to get to the journal homepage, search for your journal on our Journal Catalog by title, keywords or ISSN and click the journal title.
- Optional: Save the journal homepage to your browser favorites for future reference.
- Click 'Submit Your Article' at the mid-top of navigation bar. See screenshot.
- Note this does not trigger a new submission, it simply links to the login page of the submission system.
- Login to the submission site using the options on screen. For login help see How do I sign in to Editorial Manager?
- To bookmark the site for later, we recommend logging out and bookmarking the login page.
If you want to create a bookmark or favorite in your browser, we recommend using the login page of the journal before you have logged in.
- If you are already logged in, click logout. If not, navigate to the login page via the methods above.
- Before logging in, use your browser to save the page as a favorite or bookmark. Check 'Help' for your browser for more information.
- Many Elsevier journals migrated to Editorial Manager from other systems in 2020. If you have a bookmark to the previous site it should redirect to the new Editorial Manager site. You can then update your bookmark to the new address.
After following these steps:
- You located the submission site for the journal
- You're logged in to the editorial system
If you have any trouble signing in or seeing your submissions and assignments:
- Authors: Locate the paper you submitted.
- Reviewers: Locate your reviewer invitation or assignment.
- Editors: Editor Guide to Editorial Manager.
