Will I receive offprints of my published article or do I have to order these?

Last updated on August 25, 2023

Offprints are an exact copy of an article published in either paper or digital (PDF) form. A few journals still offer offprints but Share Links often replace them. If you want to receive offprints of your article, you are most likely to have to order these yourself.

If the journal in which your article will be published offers paper offprints then they can be ordered in this way:

  • With the offprint order form that the corresponding author receives when the article is accepted for publication.

How

Follow the steps below to order your paper offprints by Offprint order form:

When your article is accepted for publication, you can use the offprint order form to order offprints. The corresponding author receives the offprint order form once the your manuscript has been accepted for publication. The form will state whether either paper or digital (PDF) form are offered.  If you are a co-author, please send your order requests to the corresponding author. The corresponding author collates all orders and completes the offprint order form.

To place your order, please complete the offprint order form and return it to the address as indicated on the form.

When you return the offprint order form:

  • Your order is placed.
  • Your offprints are dispatched after the issue your article is in is published.
  • Delivery of paper offprints may take 30-60 days.  Please note: customers in China may find that delivery takes 60-90 days.
  • You can check the dispatch date with the track your article tool.
