What is ORCID?
Last updated on April 27, 2022ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher. It supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized.
This means that even if your name appears differently in some publications or it changes you still have a single record of all your research which can be made public.
Follow these steps to create your ORCID profile:
- Register with ORCID to get your unique ORCID identifier.
- Registration takes less than a minute.
- Enhance your ORCID record with your professional information and link to your other identifiers (such as Scopus or ResearcherID or LinkedIn).
After completing these steps you will be able to include your ORCID identifier on your webpage when you submit publications, apply for grants, and in any research workflow to ensure you get credit for your work.
See ORCID's website for more information.
