How does the Article Transfer Service work for authors?
Last updated on December 21, 2023Watch this short video for an author overview of the Article Transfer Service (ATS).
Elsevier’s Article Transfer Service will shorten your path to publication by suggesting journals that are more suitable for your paper, if your initial submission isn’t successful. This offers authors the opportunity to automatically transfer a rejected submission from one Elsevier journal to another Elsevier journal.
By agreeing to the transfer, your submission files will be transferred to another journal. You must then log into the new journal, and check for any additional information required in order to complete submission under the new journal's policies.
For the steps on how an author can respond to a transfer offer, and complete the submission in the new journal, see this FAQ. If you received the transfer offer from Transfer Your Manuscript service, please check this FAQfor more details.
For details on how the potential destination journals are chosen for transfer offers, please visit the Article Transfer Service page.
