Why can't I see open access options on the Rights and Access form?

If your accepted article is one of these article types, you will not have an option to order open access via the Rights and Access form:

• Discussion
• Correspondence
• Editorial

This is due to the policies of individual Funding Bodies concerning these non-peer-reviewed article types.

If your article is not one of these article types, but you still don't have an option to order open access, it may be because:

• the journal does not support open access
• the journal only supports open access for funded papers (please click the "Chat with us" icon at the bottom‑right for further assistance)
• that article has already been published and it is impossible to make it open access retrospectivelyopens in new tab/window.
• The journal is subscription and the option to publish open access was available for you in a mirror journal. Check the list of mirror journalsopens in new tab/window and also read more about mirror journals.
