How do I send email reminders to Reviewers?

Last updated on February 16, 2023

Watch this short video to see how to send reviewer reminders.

Depending on your Editor role, you may be able to send email reminders to Reviewers who haven’t yet responded to invitations or haven’t provided their review by the due date. To send reminders, you need to:

  • Be logged in to Editorial Manager with an Editor role that allows you to send reviewer reminders. If your role allows this, you’ll see a ‘Send Reminder Letters’ link on your Main Menu.
  • Have active assignments with Reviewers who haven’t responded to an invitation or are overdue in submitting their Reviewer report.

Your journal may already have automated reminders configured. Please check with your Journal Manager or other support contact if you are unsure.

How

After following these steps:

  • You'll have sent email reminders to reviewers who haven’t responded to an invitation to review, or have agreed to review but haven’t yet submitted their recommendation and comments.
  • The reminder emails can be seen in correspondence history of each submission.
  • The number of reminders and last reminder date will update for each reviewer.
