How can I submit my corrections?
Last updated on October 18, 2024To submit your corrections you are required to have received the proof email.
How
Choose the method indicated in the email you received about your proofs, and follow those steps:
Only the corresponding author can submit proof corrections.
- Click on the URL link you received in the proof email.
- Click 'Start' or 'Proceed' button to be directed to the interface where you can:
- Edit the proof.
- Answer copy-editor queries (view and respond by clicking 'Queries' on the right-hand side of the screen)
- Attach files (graphics or other).
- Click 'Submit' when you are done.
After completing these steps:
- You receive a confirmation message via the system interface.
- You receive an acknowledgement email from Proof Central.
- The corrections are sent to the typesetter for processing and sent to our systems for archiving purposes.
For help using the different functions available in Proof Central, see the Online Proofing Help (available in English, French and Spanish).
- Access SkyLaTeX via the link you received in the proof email.
- Click 'Edit your proof' to start editing a file.
- Click 'Compile' to compile the LaTeX file. If the compilation is completed without errors, you see 'Compilation successful' at the bottom of the screen.
- Press 'Validate and finish proofing' to finalize the proofing procedure.
- Check if all queries are answered and the LaTeX file compiles without errors.
- Click 'Finish proofing'.
After following these steps, you receive a confirmation email.
To be able to submit your corrections via email you'll need to download Adobe Reader version 9 or higher.
- Click on the URL you receive in the email, or if there is an attachment, open the attachment.
- Download and save the PDF file of your manuscript on your computer.
- Annotate your proof with Adobe Reader.
If you are using Adobe XI, don't make direct edits to the PDF using the editing tools as this could lead to requested changes being overlooked. Instead please request corrections by using the tools in the 'Comment' pane to annotate the PDF. If you opt to annotate the file with software other than Adobe Reader, please also highlight the appropriate place in the PDF file.
- Return the annotated manuscript by replying on the original email.
