What happens after my manuscript is accepted?

Last updated on November 05, 2024

When your manuscript is accepted for publication, the corresponding author receives the proofs of your manuscript. Once the corresponding author approves these, your article is compiled into an issue of the journal and is published in its final form. No further input is required by you as the author of the article after returning your proof corrections.

When the article is accepted for publication, the corresponding author receives the following documents by email:

  • An acceptance letter from the editorial system for your journal.
  • As soon as the article is transferred to production an acknowledgement letter from the Production Tracking System (PTS) which contains:
  • Proofs of the article. The time-frame for proofing varies between journals. For most journals your proofs will be delivered within two weeks of receiving the acknowledgement letter.

If you are a co-author of the manuscript, please contact your corresponding author about the documents above.

Please note: any changes to acknowledgement section after acceptance will need required documents from funding body and approval from EIC.
Any changes in the author order is not possible after acceptance (unless there are exceptional circumstances).

If you have any queries relating to these forms please get in touch with us using the email option at the bottom of this page. Be sure to include the journal title your article is to be published in, so we can direct your query to the Journal Manager.
