What should I do if my Mendeley Word Plugin has disappeared?
Last updated on May 27, 2025
If Word 2007 or Word 2010 crashes with the Mendeley Word plugin active, when you restart the program, the program will have deactivated the plugin for safety reasons. To re-enable it, please follow the steps below.
How
- Press the arrow next to the quick access toolbar at the top-left corner of Word (Word for Mac uses three dots to access the required menu).
- Click 'More commands'.
- On the far left pane select 'Add-Ins'.
- At the bottom on Manage, select 'Word Add-Ins'.
- Check that the Mendeley plugin is present and active in the list of plugins that appears.
- Restart Word. You may get a security warning to allow the new macro to run, click 'OK'.
