What can I see and do in the detailed view of a record?
Last updated on January 06, 2022
The Search Results page already shows you a summary and highlights about the record. To view more details about a record, click the title of the document or tick the checkbox in front of the title and click ‘View’. This will bring you to the detailed view of the record. If you chose multiple records to view in detail, they are listed one after another. Click on 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons situated on the top of the page to navigate through the records.
At the right of the record the following options can be found to work with your record:
- ‘The Full Text link’: When available, this connects to a URL with the full text for the record. This URL may be a publisher site (e.g., ScienceDirect) or an intermediary such as CrossRef or Ingenta Select. Whether or not you can access the full text is subject to the terms of your subscription to that site. In some cases, the publisher offers free access to full text. To find out which publisher websites your organization subscribes to, ask your central library or information management department. If you do not have the required subscription, some publishers have a pay-per-view system allowing non-subscribers to pay a fee to read articles on their websites. If you click ‘Full Text’ and you do not have access to the full text on a publisher's website, you should see a page listing the options available for non-subscribers.
- ‘Export’ allows you to export the record in the different formats in Embase.
- ‘Send’ allows you to email the record to email addresses of your choice.
- ‘Add to Clipboard’ allows you to add the record to Clipboard, where you can continue to work with it. See Saving, Exporting and Sharing Results for more information.
- ‘Print’ allows you to print the record using your default printer options.
- ‘Similar records’ allows you to perform a search for all articles related to this one in terms of their main topic indexing.
- ‘Search by author(s)’ allows you to perform a search using the author(s) of the article you are currently reviewing. You can select different authors to perform the search on.
