How often are books and journals on ClinicalKey updated?

Last updated on August 31, 2023

Journals

Journal articles are added as new issues are published and they normally appear in ClinicalKey within 24 hours of publication.

If made available by the society/proprietary owner of the journal, articles in press (ePub ahead of print) are available before the journal issue is published.

Books

Beginning in July 2018, when a new edition of a book on ClinicalKey is published, the old edition will remain on the site for 6 months. A notice will appear on the old edition to indicate when it will be removed. Please Note:  The old edition will not appear in search results or on the books browse page. Older editions can be accessed via durable URLs. Also, this feature will not be applied retroactively: If a new edition was added before July 2018, the old edition will not be available.

Generally, a book will remain on ClinicalKey until its new edition is available. If a book title is discontinued and no new edition is planned, the book may be retired from ClinicalKey or replaced with a newer title. Sometimes we may also replace a book with a new title on the basis of customer input or usage statistics.
