Why are some Elsevier books or journals not offered on ClinicalKey?

Last updated on August 08, 2018

ClinicalKey offers a wealth of books and journals published by Elsevier. However, not all clinical titles appear on the site. The following are the most common reasons why a title is not offered.

Sometimes an Elsevier title may not appear on a particular version of ClinicalKey because the content is more relevant to, and hence appears on, a different ClinicalKey product. For example, most nursing content appears on ClinicalKey for Nursing, not on ClinicalKey.

However, when a clinical Elsevier book or journal is not available on the most relevant ClinicalKey product, this is typically because permission to include the title has not been received from the society or entity who must grant it. This includes books for which the old edition still appears on ClinicalKey, but permission has not been granted for the new edition to be offered. In these situations, the older title may remain on ClinicalKey if the content is still relevant.
