Last updated on November 23, 2024
Engineering Village users may email, print, or download the entire list of search queries conducted during a search session. Refer to How can I use my search history? to learn more information about the various functions you can use within the Search history feature.
How
Note: You must have created an Engineering Village account and be signed in to use the Search history feature.
Follow the steps below to access your search history:
- Conduct a Quick, Expert, or Thesaurus search. Your search query is added to your Search history.
- Click ‘Search history’ at the top of the Engineering Village page. The ‘Recent results’ summary opens.
- Click ‘View all results’ to access your entire search history for this session. The ‘Search history on Engineering Village’ page opens.
From your search history you can do the following tasks:
Click the ‘Email’ link above the search query results of the Search history page. The ‘Email search history’ window opens.
- Enter your email address in the first field.
- In the ‘Share with:’ field, enter the email address(es), separated by commas, for the email recipient(s) of your search history.
- Enter a ‘Subject.’
Enter a ‘Message.’
Note: All fields displayed with an asterisk must be completed to send the search history via email.
- Click ‘Send Email.’ A notification form opens confirming that your email message was successfully sent to your email recipient(s).
- Click the ‘Print’ link above the search query results. The ‘Print search history’ window opens.
- Click ‘Print.’ A print dialog screen opens.
- Follow the print dialog screen instructions for printing your search history.
Click the ‘Download’ link above the search query results to save this file in the comma-separated value (.csv) file format. The default file name in the dialog box will be ‘Engineering Village search history’ followed by the downloaded date in MMDDYYYY format.
Example: ‘Engineering Village search history – 3232025.csv’
- Edit this default file name if desired.
- Depending upon the web browser used, you may need to click ‘Save’ to save the downloaded file.
Note: All the search queries in your current search history session will be included in the email message, printout, and/or downloaded .csv file. There is no method to email, print, and/or download specific individual search queries from your search history. If you want to email, print, and/or download specific search queries from your search history, you must begin another search session that contains only the search queries you want to use for these functions.
