To explore different time periods available, you can use the year range selector at the top of the page to select the time period for your analysis. This allows you to choose the range of publication years for the publications that are included in your analysis.

In most pages within Explore, you can analyze performance for a three-, five- or ten-year period.

In Compare - All metrics and various pages in Explore (indicated with a purple dot), you can compare performance using a flexible date range from 1996 until the present.

You can also include the current year, and publications in future years.

Throughout 2025, we will introduce flexible date ranges for more pages within Explore. Look out for the purple dots! By early 2026, all applicable pages in SciVal will benefit from flexible year ranges.

Tip: We suggest excluding the current year from your search, as Scopus only receives and indexes a portion of the current year's journal from other publishers by the end of the current year.
