Try resetting Mendeley Desktop to the last sync state.
How
- Open Mendeley Desktop
- Press Ctrl + Shift + D.
- Click the last button available under 'Reset last sync state'.
- Create a backup and store it somewhere local. Please note that it cannot be linked to any cloud-based folder or drive.
- Reset your database.
