How do I edit or merge a citation from my document with Mendeley Cite?

To edit a citation, click the citation you wish to edit within the document, this will load up the existing citation in the Mendeley Cite add-in pane. You can find more information here.

You can also edit a reference. To do this, click the reference pill when editing or creating a citation. This will load up the edit reference panel in the Mendeley Cite add-in pane where you can provide extra reference attributes (such as a page number) as well as a prefix/suffix. There is also a check box that gives you the ability to suppress author names within the citation. Once you are happy with your edit, click 'Done' to close the edit reference panel. Your edits will not be saved until you have clicked 'Save changes'.

To merge 2 or more citations:

Highlight the text containing the citations you want to merge then select the three-dot menu. Select ‘Merge Citations’ and your citations will merge where your cursor is.
