Why do some of my eBook+ titles have a Notes link, while others do not?
Last updated on September 02, 2026
The Notes link appears only next to titles that have notes transferred from the Inkling platform. If you never made notes for a title on Inkling, that title will not show the link.
What does the Notes link do?
It opens the notes you previously created on Inkling and that were migrated to Elsevier eBooks+. It relates only to those transferred notes — new notes you make in eBooks+ are not accessed through this link.
Why is the link missing on some titles?
You will not see a Notes link if:
- You did not create any notes for that title on Inkling.
- The title has no eligible Inkling notes associated with your account.
- You are using the eBooks+ app — transferred notes and additional content are available in the web version only.
Where do my new notes appear?
Notes you create on Elsevier eBooks+ are made and viewed with the Notes and Highlights feature inside the eBook itself. See How do I take notes on the new Elsevier eBooks+ platform?
At a glance
- The Notes link is for notes transferred from Inkling.
- It appears only on titles that have eligible Inkling notes.
- It does not apply to new notes made in eBooks+.
Use Notes and Highlights in eBooks+ to create and find new notes.
