Why are my notes made on the Inkling platform outside of my eBook?

Your notes from the Inkling platform have been transferred to Elsevier eBooks+, but they are stored alongside your eBook rather than on the pages of the book itself. Nothing has been lost — the notes simply sit in a separate place.

Where do I find my transferred notes?

Open your library on the web version of Elsevier eBooks+ and select the Notes link next to the relevant title. Your transferred notes are grouped with that eBook's additional content and are organised by:

• Book title
• Chapter number

You can also search your notes by keyword to find a specific note quickly.

Why aren't they on the book pages?

The two platforms anchor notes differently, so we could not re-attach each Inkling note to the exact passage it was made against. To make sure no note was lost in the move, they were transferred as a separate, searchable set instead.

Do new notes behave the same way?

No. Notes you create on Elsevier eBooks+ using Notes and Highlights are attached to the text in the book, exactly where you make them. See How do I take notes on the new Elsevier eBooks+ platform?
