How do I activate remote access with my organizational email address?

If you have an email account through your organization (Example: [email protected]) you may already be eligible to sign up for remote access.
Note: This option relies on your administrator having already supplied Elsevier with your institutional email domain(s).
To activate your remote access, you need to have previously registered for a user profile. Select the relevant option below and follow the steps to register and activate your remote access:

Please follow the steps below to register and activate your remote access:
- Click 'Register' in the top right corner of the page to create a user profile/personal account using your institutional email address.*
- Complete the registration form, and click 'Register'.
- A 'Registration Successful' message will appear and an email will be sent to the institutional email address you entered in the registration form.
- After receiving your confirmation email, visit the Login page on ClinicalKey.
- At the bottom of the Login page, click the 'Apply' button for remote access to ClinicalKey or ClinicalKey for Nursing or the 'Apply for Remote Access' button for Clinical Pharmacology powered by ClinicalKey.
- The Apply for Remote Access screen will appear (for ClinicalKey or ClinicalKey for Nursing) or the Remote Access Activation screen will appear (for Clinical Pharmacology powered by ClinicalKey).
- Enter your institutional email address* and click 'Continue'.
- A confirmation screen will be displayed and an email sent to your institutional email address.
- Open the confirmation email and click the link to activate remote access.
Please note: The activation link expires 1 hour after you receive it.
- If the email domain is shared by multiple accounts, you will be asked to select one of the organizations listed.
- Confirmation will be displayed that remote access is complete and you will be prompted to log in.
- Complete your login process.
After completing these steps you will have remote access.
*This remote access method is not compatible with Yahoo, Gmail, or other personal email accounts. If you do not have an email address associated with your institution, please contact your institution's administrator to obtain remote access.
If you have registered using your institutional email address and would like access whilst you are off your institution's network or VPN using remote access, follow the steps below.
Please note: Before you start the activation process, make sure you have completely logged out. Check whether your name appears in the upper-right corner of the site. If it does, please click either your name or the spine menu icon (three stacked lines) in the upper-right corner and select 'Log Out'.
- Go to the site.
- Click 'Log In'.
- At the bottom of the Login page, click the 'Apply' button for remote access to ClinicalKey or ClinicalKey for Nursing or the 'Apply for Remote Access' button for Clinical Pharmacology powered by ClinicalKey.
- The Apply for Remote Access screen will appear (for ClinicalKey or ClinicalKey for Nursing) or the Remote Access Activation screen will appear (for Clinical Pharmacology powered by ClinicalKey).
- Enter your institutional email address* and click 'Continue'.
- A confirmation screen will be displayed and an email sent to your institutional email address.
- Open the confirmation email and click the link to activate remote access.
