What fields are used when exporting documents from Scopus?

When you export documents from Scopus, you can choose which metadata fields you want to export. Available Metadata fields differ depending on the export file type selected.
Bulk Document Export
The new bulk document export feature which replaced the existing one in July-Aug 2025. The new upgraded document bulk export brings significant updates, changes, and improvements. For what changed, please see the comparison table at the end of this page.
When exporting Documents in Bulk from the documents search results page, the following metadata is available depending on the chosen format.
November 07, 2025: Scopus enabled the following temporarily disabled field for Bulk Document Export: "Tradenames & manufacturers". ALL fields are now available for export.
October 28, 2025: Scopus enabled the following temporarily disabled fields for Bulk Document Export: Correspondence address, Abbreviated source title, and Funding Details. "Tradenames & manufacturers" will be re-enabled on or before November 15, 2025.
October 08, 2025: Scopus lifted the temporary limit restrictions (10 associations per document) from Authors, Affiliations, Serial identifiers, Source Title.
"Include References" temporary limit of 10 is still in place and we plan to lift it in early March, 2026.

Secondary Document Export
Exporting Secondary documents provides only a limited subset of the "Citation Information" section. No other metadata sections (Bibliographical, Abstract, Funding, etc.) are included in this export type.
