The ratio of citations received relative to the expected world average for the subject, publication type (paper, review, conference proceeding, book, or book chapter) and publication year. The world average FWCI is 1.00. The FWCIs used in the THE Impact Rankings are based on a 5-year time window and therefore are different from the FWCIs available in other parts of SciVal, which uses a 4-year time window.
