The rank percentile value of a research metric is intended to show the university's performance relative to the other universities participating in the ranking.

All universities ranked are sorted by their metric value in ascending order and metric ranks are then converted into percentile values.

For example, 99th percentile is equivalent to top 1%.

The metric is applied to different metric for the rankings listed below:

  • THE World University Rankings
    The population of Institutions is considered per rankings year
  • THE Impact Rankings
    The population of Institutions is considered per SDG and per rankings year
