The Key Topics functionality allows you to see only the Topics where the entity is considered to be a key contributor. This allows you to filter out Topics to which the entity has a lower contribution and focus on the Topics where the entity has a higher potential influence.

An entity will be a Key Contributor in a Topic if:

  • they have at least 1/3 (33.3%) as many publications, as the top publishing entity in a topic
    AND / OR
  • they have at least 1/3 (33.3%) as many citations, as the top cited entity in a topic
AND
  • there are at least the same number of publications as years selected in the Overview module, e.g. if 2015 - 2020 is selected, the institution must have published at least 6 publications in that Topic for it be considered Key.
