How do I configure Mendeley Web Importer for enterprise deployment?

Institutions which manage multiple computers may wish to deploy Mendeley Web Importer as a standard browser extension on pre-installed Chrome and Firefox browsers.

Deploying Mendeley Web Importer with Windows Group Policy Management

This Group Policy will automatically install the Mendeley Web Importer extension for all users to whom the Group Policy applies. The installation is executed silently and without user interaction.
- Open your Group Policy Management console (dsa.msc) and go to: User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Google \ Google Chrome \ Extensions.
- Enable the setting Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions.
Click the Show button and enter the following string:
dagcmkpagjlhakfdhnbomgmjdpkdklff;https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx
The policy setting is now configured. On the next Group Policy refresh the user will automatically receive the required extension.
This Group Policy will automatically install a specific version of Mendeley Web Importer extension for all users to whom the Group Policy applies. The installation is executed silently and without user interaction.
- Open your Group Policy Management console (dsa.msc) and go to User Configuration \ Policies \ Administrative Templates \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Extensions.
- Select extensions to install > select Enabled > click Show.
Enter the following URL in the value field:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/3466552/mendeley_web_importer-3.0.264- fx.api
The version number is manually specified for the Firefox extension. You can replace the string 3.0.264 with any other published version from the Firefox store.
