How can I prevent Author initials being added to my citations in Word?

Mendeley adds the author's initials when:

• There is more than one author with the same surname.
• There are multiple cases of the same author being treated as different authors by the program. The program will disambiguate the authors by adding initials or the first name.
• For example, Smith, J, Smith, J., and Smith, John would be treated as different authors by Mendeley.

If this doesn't prevent the initials being added, please send us:

• Your Mendeley database.
• The document with your citations.
• A list with the citations with initials.
