Can I use documents containing citations made with the citation plugin available with Mendeley Desktop with Mendeley Cite?

Yes. Mendeley Cite will be required to convert your citations made with Mendeley Desktop to work with Mendeley Cite. Once your document has converted, you will be able to edit it using Mendeley Cite. You cannot convert a document back to work with Mendeley Desktop after you have converted it to work with Mendeley Cite.
