IMPROVEMENTS
URLs in Skills Point-of-Care have upgraded to a new format will work anywhere in your network, just like referential URLs. You’ll see this new link format in the address bar across the app, as well as in Admin Reports and the Edit Skills page. Other notes:
- These new links address some compatibility issues we’ve seen with third-party applications.
- The old link format will continue to work indefinitely.
- Since every link in Point-of-Care now works, you’re now able to link directly to specific searches, sections of Skills, and Patient Education.
Again, these links work the same way referential URLs do. They’ll work inside a licensed network, but will require login outside that network.
IMPROVEMENTS
- All URLs in the Skills Point-of-Care application now have the same functionality as referential URLs. The list of Skills referential URLs in EPM Admin Reports has been updated with the new link format – which also addresses some issues we’ve found with third-party policy managers. The Edit Skills page still shows the old link format, which will continue to work indefinitely.

- Clinical Skills: Patient Education has been updated with a number of improvements designed to bring it in line with the rest of Clinical Skills. Searching, using, and browsing patient education has all been streamlined to provide a consistent experience.

- “Submit Content Contents” will now only appear alongside Skills content in accounts that have configured working email addresses for those comments. Experience in those configured accounts will be un-changed and users of other accounts will no longer encounter a non-functional content comments page.

- EPM: The registration page for Direct Course no longer includes fields for birthdate, address, or phone numbers. It now has a field for 4-digit verification code.

We have replaced the Linked Content Uploader in EPM with a version that is faster and more user friendly.

- Updated Skills Content Uploader! Clinical Skills now has a new content uploader for administrators who add images or videos to custom skills. The previous uploader leveraged Silverlight, a Microsoft product that was deprecated in 2020. Silverlight is currently only supported on Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11, with support for Internet Explorer 10 ending on January 31, 2020. There is no longer support for Chrome, Firefox, or any browser using the Mac operating system. The new uploader works the same but can be accessed on any web browser and boasts an updated easy to use interface.

- Upon clicking into the search bar within Clinical Skills Point of Care, EHR and logged in users will be able to view and navigate to the 8 most recent skills they visited. If the user continues to type in the search bar they will then see the suggested key words to search.
- For Clinical Skills that have a notes tab a notes quick link will appear to the right of the search result along with the other quick links. The title of the notes quick link will have a default title of "notes" unless changed in the system configuration page.
- The title of the Clinical Skills' notes quick link can be changed by an admin in the system configuration page under the Skills section.

- We have updated the EPM’s welcome/Login Credentials Email! The subject has changed from "Welcome to Online learning" to “Welcome to Elsevier Clinical Online Learning” to provide more context to the email recepient. we have also updated the wording inside the email itself to be more descriptive and easier to understand.

You can now run a report for your organization that shows skills views at the point of care.
Previously your organization's Skills views were combined (competency and point of care). Now you have the ability to track skills views just from clinicians who access the product at the point of care to track usage and trends.

Elsevier Transition to Practice:- The satisfaction report was moved to API. The report loads much faster now.
- A bug was fixed when an admin creates a user and navigates between the different pages. The data is also preserved as they navigate between the pages.

Elsevier Transition to Practice:- Admins can now edit a nurse's alert status in their profile and view a list of learner's marked as medium and high alert.

We have fixed a defect in the Top Viewed Skills report where some skills views were counting twice.
We have updated the Skills landing page to not show customized skills in the Evidence Based Practice Changes section. Previously, if a Skill had changes from Elsevier, then was customized by a client it would still show up in this section.

Included in this release is a new cookie policy page for EPM. This page contains our cookie policy, explains the various types of cookies that may be used on EPM, and links to third party privacy policies for cookies that may be used on EPM or Elsevier.com.
Improvements
Seat counting was not correctly displaying all used seats for some content types. This release contains a fix where accurate seat counts are now displayed.
Transition to Practice learner profiles can now be updated with support team information.
Transition to Practice navigation was improved to allow breadcrumbs to the admin view of the website. Now admins can navigate between pages.
NEW!
Elsevier Clinical skills is releasing the age specific population filter! With this new feature, you can narrow down your skills search results by either adult, pediatric or neonatal.
Elsevier Clinical skills has updated their search auto complete. We now have a more intuitive and robust list of auto-complete suggestions when using the search bar via the Skills landing page.
Automatic Archive now works on Saba! We have fully tested the new feature for all applicable content types on the Saba LMS and will be enabling it for all Saba clients with this release.

Survey comments report has been redesigned to make it easier to read for the admins. The Congratulate and Followup buttons have been taken down as they were part of an experiment which is complete.
Create learner flow now includes their support team page. Nurse manager, unit educator, preceptor and residency coordinator for the learner can now be saved.

Clinical Skills has a new search results interface! Users can now see Skill descriptions directly below the title. There is also added functionality that allows users to filter search results by specialty and category. In addition to this, we have updated the search results interface for our Patient Education content, allowing users to print directly from the search results page. This new UI is fully mobile and accessible.

- Learner participation report available for admins. Report displays data related to learners' participation in completing the shift surveys and includes number of submissions per learner and learner start date.
- Text on shift survey textbox changed to "Tell us about how you felt during your recent shifts!" instead of asking learner's to reflect on their last shift.
- Text added below the shift survey questions indicating who will be able to view the learner's survey submissions so that the learner is informed that the surveys are not anonymous.

We fixed a bug that was causing errors when preceptors were trying to select learners to grade. Users were previously getting an internal 500 server error when trying to launch a Skill.

We fixed an issue impacting numerous courses that were forcing users to exit prior to taking the test. This was causing exit commands to be sent erroneously and issues with scores and completions being updated. This fix applies only to clients accessing content on third party LMSs.

We fixed a defect with customized skills: Now when launching an assigned customized skill from the learner's lesson plan, the checklist should not show up if the admin customized the skill for it not to contain any checklist items.

- We have updated the California CE provider number on e-learning and skills certificates to reflect the California State Board of nursing's new license number.
- We now include the Module Name and Assignment Date as available fields in the Transcript - All Training Report.
- We have updated the copy and paste URL's report that is sent from client services to clients. The new URL's will be direct links to the skill that do not require rerouting which happened with the previous version. This should speed up performance and bring clients directly to their desired skill faster.

- When an admin is editing the assignment item properties, they now have the ability to uncheck test required for content they uploaded themselves.
- We have updated our system to be able to accurately update skills versions for skills who have more than 100 updates and to show the version history.
- We fixed an issue where some reports were pulling data from outside the selected date range due to GMT time stamps.
- We have fixed several cross domain errors where content was linking to invalid resources. We will continue to resolve these errors through scripting over the next few sprints.

- Skills Site traffic report is now collecting views generated from referrer/ copy and paste URL's. There was a defect where the report was not showing skills usage from these links.
- Admins can now edit the "Welcome to Online Learning" email and without the learner's password being displayed as asterisks in their email. When the learner receives the edited "Welcome to Online Learning" email, they will able to view their password in plain text.
- We fixed an issue where some certificates for Skills CE were not available due to a data issue. Now all CE for Skills certificates are available and reflect the correct date and CE awarded.

Passwords are required throughout our platform to access various features and functionality. We encrypted all user passwords across our platform to better protect our clients and our organization against security breaches and achieve General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance. This improves the security of our password management and storage within our products.

We implemented significant security upgrades for our Elsevier Performance Management products, which included the Elsevier Performance Manager (EPM), Home Health Care, Skills, Procedures Consult, and RCC and Direct Course eLearning. We included an additional layer of security for our products and network enhancements to improve the services we provide to you. These include improved firewalls. If your organization accesses our products by whitelisting via IP range, then your IT/Network Security group will need to add our new IP ranges to your whitelist.

- Courses with exceptionally long internal identifiers no longer abort when submitting the evaluation
- Blank departments are now able to have scope applied, but clients should make sure they are putting a name in for all departments

We have updated two reports to show contact hours earned for all skills. Now there is a contact hours column in the self enroll report and the Skills Progress Monitor report. If you click "All Skills" you can see the total amount of CE your learners have earned by completing skills in both reports.
Fixes
- Grading an entire Knowledge Manager checklist as a pass or fail via the radio buttons at the bottom of the grading page has been fixed.
- When you favorite a Patient Education handout and it has a related "Easy-To-Read" handout, only the handout you selected will be added or removed now.

When printing a graded checklist, the learner name will now appear on the printout.

Elsevier is now offering continuing education contact hours for more than 250 skills! Learners can earn CE by completing an assigned skills test that offers contact hours. Elsevier will continue to update skills to have CE throughout the year.

We released an off-cycle release on July 24, to allow Connect LMS customers to use user IDs that, when encrypted, exceed 100 characters.

Mosby's Medical-Surgical Nursing Orientation lessons will now launch and complete for users who have a special character in their password.
Coding Strategies certificates are now available from the Access Certificate button on the lesson.
HCPro Risk Adjustment final exam can now be unlocked after the learner has completed all the course lessons.
Administrators will no longer receive an error when manually completing lessons for a learner.

We have released a new user interface for the introduction pages of select e-learning courses. Functionality will be the same; however, the look and feel of the pages have been updated.

We have updated the Test Analysis Report to show information for multi-select questions not just one answer multiple choice. Now you can drill down and see the list of users and which multi select answers they provided.

- For Skills videos that have closed captioning, the functionality has been restored.
- For Connect SCORM package users, all lessons are now able to complete.

When viewing an Assigned Skill, it will now default to a larger size, for better viewing on a desktop or laptop.

In Elsevier Performance Manager's Linked Content area, user can choose the "Link to Uploaded File" option and begin typing to see the list of files available. The list will now fully load.
In Elsevier Home Healthcare, the search will now reliably return relevant results for Labs and Scales, and browsing to Labs and Scales will reliably show the content.
In Announcements, after a user clicks to acknowledge and announcement, using the back button will no longer result in an error.
In Reports, custom skills were showing up alongside the Elsevier skill without an indication of which skill was customized. The customized version will now list "(custom)" after the title. Reports include Test Score History, Test Analysis, and Lesson-Learner.

- Inactive users no longer receive assignment reminder emails.
- Acknowledged announcements will now correctly show in transcript.
- Permissions for Classes and Events have been adjusted, so that only users with proper permission can perform classes and events editing.
- Clinical Skills were not loading for some user accounts for some clients. This has been resolved.
- On April 2, a fix was released to correct an issue with Skills lessons not being marked complete.

- When making an assignment, administrators can now choose to automatically send email reminders about the assignment to learners 1 day, 1 week, or 30 days before their earliest lesson is due within a module. Note this is not retroactive and will not impact any existing assignments.
- When an Administrator is searching for learners who need a password reset, they can now search by LearnerID AND Learner's Last Name.
- Administrators cannot manually complete a learner for a date in the future.

- We have added an enhancement to the Program Summary Report in EPM. Previously the report only displayed one program at a time, now users are able to run the Program Summary Report across multiple programs at once.
- We have added a department level drop down to the lesson summary report. Users can now filter the report to the department level to see those who have not completed a specific assignment.
- For Connect Skills and Assigned Skills, when there is no content for a particular content area on a Skill, users will see a message stating that the area does not have any content.
- The Skills Contributors list has been updated for 2018 (accessed through the About Us link in the footer).
- The Demographics page for Direct Course content has been updated with an option for learners to select a new "profession" choice of "Direct Support Professional."
- In the Classes and Events Roster, an Admin can now search by a partial LearnerID and get results.

- On February 23rd we fixed an issue where clients were unable to view skills when using Internet Explorer version 9.
- The pagination and filter functionality on Group Assignment Builder now allows the user navigate through pages of results and maintain the filter criteria from page to page.
- For Connect Skills and Assigned Skills, the illustration descriptions will now display correctly without HTML tags.

- Skills illustrations are updated to be larger and clearer to read from any size device. This change affects EPM assigned Skills and Skills Connect customers.
- Skills Checklists will no longer show in the Credits Earned screen on EPM, because credits are not earned based on completion of a Checklist.
- SCORM Connect packages can now be provided to include either HTTP or HTTPS protocol.
- When using the Data Export feature in Surveyor, the Survey Name field has been added to the export file.

- Patient Education handouts will now display nested bullets properly.
- Clinical Skills users searching from the main search box will again receive Patient Education as part of the available search result set.
- When assigning an Announcement to users by Job Code, the Job Codes are now displaying correctly under the Facility/Department/Job Code tab.

- AICC Connect packages can now be provided to include either HTTP or HTTPS protocol.
- After navigating to a previous version of a Skill and then returning to the "Version History Details" list, using the "Cancel" button will now take the user back up to the "Version History" page instead of back into the previous version of the Skill.
- Patient Education Specialty list will now exactly match the categories published by Elsevier's Patient Education products.
- Patient Education has been updated to use the most recent content available.
- In the Announcement editor, buttons for features we do not support have been removed: Flash Manager, Media Manager, Template Manager
- In Classes and Events reports, Administrators can run a report to show individuals who cancelled or who have an incomplete status.
- The footer has been updated across all pages to provide access to the new Support Hub. Information previously found under Help and Contact Us can now be found on the Support Hub.
Fixes
- When adding Learners to a new Announcement, an Administrator can now move users to and from the "Selected" box without issue.
- When adding a Learner to a group from the Create Learner page, the Learner will now receive the announcements for the group.
- In Assigned Skills, the HTML formatting in Notes and Supplies tabs is now rendering correctly.
- First-time users will no longer be able to bypass the Registered User Agreement.
- Preceptors who grade a checklist will no longer create extraneous data.
- Skills Mobile users will no longer receive a 404 server error when clicking the Home menu.
- On the OnTrack Item Enrollment screen, the full date is now displayed in the Due date and Completed date fields
- On January 9 and 16, fixes were released to correct an issue with Skills checklists and Skills completions not marking complete.
Operations
- On January 8th, Content Security filters were redeployed, to ensure Elsevier and client content remains secure.
- On January 9th, a new IIS was added to the web farm to replace .252, which will solely be used to run back-end services going forward.
- On January 18th, we will replace our main database cluster. This move to new servers in a new cluster will support our licensing with Microsoft.
