What is the errata (error correction) document linking feature?
Last updated on March 26, 2026
Errata (error correction) documents in Engineering Village cite an original article and correct an error in it. They are assigned the Erratum document type (ER).
Some of these correction documents contain the labels ‘erratum,’ ‘errata,’ ‘corrigendum,’ ‘corrigenda,’ or ‘correction’ in their titles.
If an original document has an associated correction document, the record page will include a direct link to access it. Additionally, there will be a direct link from the correction document to the original document.
How
Follow these steps to view the error correction document linking feature:
You can limit your search results to only correction documents from both Quick and Expert searches:
- From the ‘Document type’ tab on the Document results list after running a Quick search query, select the ‘Erratum’ checkbox.
- From the Expert search form, enter the following search query: (ER WN DT)
Beneath the abstract of the erratum document, the document title of the original document displays as a link beneath the ‘Source record’ label.
Click the Source Record document title to access the original document. The record page will refresh, and the original source document will display.

Click the document title of the correction document. The record page refreshes, and the correction document displays.
