Growth in Embase content volumes across document types
Last updated on February 12, 2026
Over the past few years, we have received a large volume of new journal suggestions. To address this backlog and ensure we include the most relevant journals, we have been actively adding new titles to Embase this year. As a result, Embase content volumes across all document types are growing. This ongoing enrichment and broader coverage drive an increase in indexed records and will be visible across all content types throughout the year. It is a normal part of our ongoing coverage expansion and not tied to a single event; volumes may fluctuate as we add new titles and content types, contributing to year-over-year growth.
What this means
- Baseline uplift across all content types due to expanded journal coverage.
- Ongoing enrichment: volumes will continue to grow as we add new journals and content types.
- The uplift is not tied to a single event and reflects continuous coverage expansion.
What to expect
- Year-over-year growth in content volumes as we broaden coverage.
- Temporary fluctuations in monthly volumes as new titles and content types are integrated.
- A steady progression of content growth aligned with our long-term enrichment program.
