Journals Dataset

We’re pleased to introduce five new journal collections, expanding access to society-published research, and French and Spanish collections. These additions help you build a more complete and globally representative research portfolio. 

What’s new:

Premium Society Collection – 88 journals

Elsevier partners with numerous prestigious societies across a broad range of disciplines. This new Premium Society Collection brings together high-impact society journals that are not available in any other dataset. This collection includes influential, high-impact society journals not found elsewhere, providing authoritative research across medicine and the life sciences.

Masson Package – 56 journals

A strong collection of French-language medical and academic journals, including titles associated with leading national medical societies. This package is perfect for customers interested in French-language medical content.

Doyma Spanish CME Collection – 38 journals

High-quality Spanish-language journals covering medicine, health sciences, and clinical research, with content relevant to Spain and Latin America.

Doyma Spanish Medical Collection – 3 journals

A focused collection of reputable Spanish-language clinical and medical journals. Health Supplementary Collection – 82 journalsAdditional health and medical journals that expand coverage across healthcare practice and related fields.

Journals Dataset

As part of our regular journal selection review, we are pleased to announce the following changes to the ScienceDirect Corporate Edition flat file delivery.

An additional 44 titles have been added to the Corporate Edition collection. These journals and articles have also been incorporated into the relevant subject collections.

10 titles have also been removed (divested, transferred or removed for rights protection) from the backfile and will no longer appear in updates.

The following titles have been removed.

The changes will be reflected in the October 2025 backfile(s) and in subsequent daily updates (exact date to be confirmed). We suggest that you re-ingest the October backfile once it is available, at your convenience, to fully benefit from the additional content.

This release focuses on some significant content expansion efforts for Elsevier’s full-text datasets. We are pleased to include this additional content thanks to a combination of refinements of our internal processing and additional content from Open Access journals. 

The content expansion is relevant for both our standard Corporate Edition dataset (and subject collection subsets) as well as our Enriched FAIR Life Science dataset (and Therapy Area subsets).

Standard Corporate Edition Full-text content expansion 

434 titles have been added to the full-text Corporate Edition dataset. 

• These journals/articles have been incorporated into the relevant subject collections (e.g. the journal ‘Physics in Medicine’ is in both the Corporate Edition collection, and the subset subject collections of ‘Medicine and Dentistry’ and ‘Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology’
• 37 titles have also been removed (divested, transferred or for rights protection) from the backfile and will no longer appear in updates.
• These changes overall represent an increase in coverage of 18%.

Enriched FAIR full-text content 

Of the 434 titles added to the standard dataset, 359 titles of these have been added to the full-text Enriched FAIR dataset. 

• The articles from these journals have been incorporated into the relevant Therapy Area data subsets. These new journals will be included in any subsequent updates.
• 24 titles have also been removed (divested, transferred or for rights protection) from the backfile and will no longer appear in updates.
• These changes overall represent an increase in coverage of 23%.

Document Types

For both the standard full-text and enriched full-text Datasets we are now including the following document subtypes: RTI, REM, RET. These cover retired, retracted and withdrawn articles such as this.   

• These articles may have been withdrawn at the request of authors or editors for various reasons. See more about Elsevier’s article withdrawal policy here.
• The addition of the document subtypes allows you to be aware of any articles you may wish to remove from your analysis.

Enrichment updates

All articles will be enriched by the following additional vocabs where applicable. 

All the vocabs used to enrich the content have been refreshed and new terms added where applicable.
