What is the best way for me to classify my research to SSRN?

Classification and distribution process:
View our new FAQ Classifying Your Paper with the New SSRN Submission Form to learn about the new changes SSRN has made to the classification process. SSRN changed the classification section of the form to streamline and speed up the classification and distribution process. The option to have SSRN select the classification has been removed to avoid the need for manual classification by SSRN staff, which could slow down the distribution process. Authors are now prompted to self-classify their papers, allowing for faster posting on SSRN and giving authors the opportunity to make their work more discoverable by selecting accurate classifications.
- You can select up to 7 subject matter eJournals for distribution of the abstract of your paper.
- All of your classifications will be reviewed by SSRN classifiers as well as by the editors of each selected eJournal.
- You have two options to select classifications in Step 4. You can either use the search function by typing in search terms relevant for classification or use the browse feature to select the classification that best fits your papers topic.
Once the paper review process is complete, the eJournal classifications of your submission will be available for review by our classifiers. You will notice that the "Status" column for your paper on your My Papers page contains a link that will give you information on the status and/or distribution schedule for each classification selected for this paper.
No fee is charged for the submission of abstracts and papers for inclusion in the SSRN eLibrary and distribution in email eJournals. Authors are encouraged to submit all their research papers, including older papers.
