SSRN Retraction and Removal Policy
Last updated on November 14, 2024
SSRN partners with Elsevier to offer a preprint service to authors of journal submissions. Elsevier and SSRN recognize the importance of the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record to research communities. Circumstances may arise where a journal article must be retracted or removed. The Elsevier FAQ Article Correction, Retraction and Removal Policy describes occurrences when this may occur.
SSRN reserves the right to withdraw a paper from SSRN if a corresponding journal article or article-in-press is retracted or withdrawn. In such instances, a ‘withdrawn’ notice will be placed on the preprint and the PDF and abstract will be removed. A link to the journal article retraction or withdrawal notice will be provided. In cases where a temporary Expression-of-Concern is made at an Elsevier journal and there is a corresponding preprint, SSRN will also place a temporary Expression-of-Concern on the preprint and provide a link to the journal notice. In this instance, the PDF will remain until the journal investigation is concluded at which point the Expression-of Concern will be removed or the preprint will be withdrawn following a journal retraction.
SSRN reserves the right to remove or withdraw any content that it deems to be in breach of its terms and conditions. For more information review the SSRN Terms and Conditions.
