What is an SSRN Author Profile?

An SSRN Author Profile makes it easier for people to learn more about an author’s work. It can act as an online showcase for their current research, especially if they include a Current Idea description. Their affiliation information and public email address (if included) make it easier for logged in users to contact them. This includes potential funders, employers and collaborators.

All authors who have papers on SSRN have an Author Profile page.

SSRN is a platform for showcasing working papers, conference papers and accepted manuscripts prior to publication, as well as some publisher approved versions of record. Authors can submit papers directly. Someone (e.g., a co-author or institutional administrator) can submit them on an author’s behalf. SSRN customer organizations (e.g., universities, law schools and business schools) that an author is affiliated with can submit them as part of a Research Paper Series. Some may be submitted as conference proceedings or published as part of our Partners in Publishing or First Look series. Regardless of the method of submission, if an author has at least one paper on SSRN, they will also have an SSRN Author Profile. It displays their name, their affiliation, and a list of their papers on SSRN with links to each one. If they have a public email address, this is also shown. They also have the option of adding information about their ongoing research in the form of a brief Current Idea description.

SSRN Author Profiles are visible to the public. An author’s profile can be found by searching for their name in SSRN, by following a link from one of their papers on SSRN, or by using an internet search engine (e.g., Google or Google Scholar). You do not need to sign in or register to SSRN to see SSRN Author Profiles.

If you find inaccurate information in your Author Profile, you can log into SSRN to update the details. Only the author using their own credentials can revise their account information.

You can also add a Current Idea description when logged in. 

If you wish to delete your SSRN user account, contact SSRN Support. Deleting an SSRN Author Profile and personally submitted papers removes that author’s personal data from the platform.
