What do I do when Scopus fails to export documents to SciVal?

Last updated on August 15, 2024

Sometimes Scopus fails to export documents to SciVal. This happens for one of two reasons:

  • The SciVal pop-up has been blocked by Scopus.
  • The Single Sign On feature that automatically logs in users of Scopus into SciVal has failed.

If no new tab opens automatically after your export, please complete the following troubleshooting steps.

SciVal pop-up blocked

If no new tab opens automatically after export, you need to update your browser settings to allow the pop-ups for www.scopus.com. Follow the steps below for the browser you're using:

Once you have updated your browser settings, perform your Scopus export again. A new tab should open with your Publication Set displayed in SciVal.

Single Sign On failed

If a new browser tab opens to SciVal, but you are not logged in, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your login credentials for SciVal.
  2. Repeat your Scopus export to SciVal. SciVal opens as a new browser tab displaying your Publication Set.

If a new tab does not open displaying your SciVal Publication Set, follow the steps above to allow the SciVal pop-up.
