How do I create a group of authors?
Last updated on August 15, 2024
PLEASE NOTE: The Grouped Authors feature was replaced with the Authors Lists feature.
Creating a list of potential authors helps you gather a complete list of documents for an author and is done from an Author details page.
This is useful because some documents do not have sufficient information for the Author Identifier to accurately match them, even when they are written by the same author. Therefore, Scopus can also retrieve the most relevant potential author matches, too.
Once you have created a list of authors, you can view the authors saved to it, as well as the number of documents, a citation overview, and affiliations for all the listed authors.
How
To view potential authors and list them:
- Sign in to Scopus.
- Run an author search. An author search results page opens.
- Click on an author’s name to view their profile. The Author details page opens.
- Click ‘View potential author matches’. A list of potential authors will open.
- Click ‘View them in search results format’.
- Select the checkboxes to select the authors for which you would like to either create a new list or have added to an existing one to access later from the My Scopus, Saved Lists section.
- Click ‘Save to Author List’ in the top right corner. A dialogue box opens, prompting you to create a new list or save to an existing one.
a. To create a new list:
i. Enter the name in the Enter name of new list field.
ii. Click ‘Save list’.
b. Save to an existing list:
i. Click the Select from your Saved lists drop-down menu.
ii. Click the list to which you want to save.
