What can I do on a Reference Works home page?

The new Reference Work home page provides improved navigation to the information you need.

  • About this publication’ takes you to the Reference Work details, which may include:
    • Publication description
    • Key features
    • Publishing information
    • Editor information, including affiliations
  • Browse content - Select By table of contents to review the Reference Work table of contents
  • Search in this publication’ - Quickly find the chapters in this Reference Work which contain your search terms.

To browse the Reference Work contents, select the appropriate tab for the sorting order in which you want to review the contents. Options can include:

Table of contents

Browse a list of volumes and chapters (or their equivalent) for the Reference Work.

- Select '>' to view nested volumes and chapters (if available).

Article titles

Browse an alphabetical list of the articles included in the Reference Work.

- Select a letter to navigate to articles beginning with that letter.

Authors

Browse a list of authors who contributed documents or chapters to the Reference Work.

- Select ‘>’ to review the articles written by the author.

Subject index

Browse the index of concepts and terms covered in the Reference Work.

- Select a section number (e.g., 2:317) to review the article.

Subject Classification

Browse the hierarchical classification scheme devised by the Editors-in-Chief to encompass the whole content of the publication.

- Select ‘>’ to review nested classifications and articles.

Languages

Browse the list of languages.

- Select ‘>’ to review the variants or dialects of the language.

Appendice

Browse addendums made to the publication after initial publishing.

General Information

Review information about the Reference Work, such as an introduction or the names of the Editors-in-Chief and Section Editors.

Glossary

Browse and search definitions of concepts and terms covered in the Reference Work.

In the contents list, you can:

  • Select a chapter title to access the chapter for review
  • Expand the section or sub-section to access nested chapters
  • Preview abstracts and graphic abstracts (if available)
  • Download a PDF
  • If you are not subscribed to the Reference Work, you can purchase a chapter
