How do we update our SAML signing or encryption certificate?

If you’re an academic institution then you just need to update it in your RE federation metadata and we will automatically consume the new certificate within 24 hours of its publication. This also applies if you’re an OpenAthens subscriber.

If you’re a corporate or health organization that has previously integrated with Elsevier, please contact us via the Email option at the bottom of this page with the following information:

• Your Elsevier Customer Number.
• Your organization name.
• Your SAML entityID.
• Your new certificate, attached as a text file.
• The date you need us to update it at your end.

Please send this one week in advance.
