Why can’t I find the reference I saved to a collection (folder)?

Web Importer has the ability to save references to particular collections and sub-collections (formerly called folders and sub-folders). However, collection nesting behavior is different between the classic Mendeley Desktop/Web Library and the new beta of Mendeley Reference Manager:

• Mendeley Reference Manager – saved reference appears in sub-collection and all parent collections.
• Mendeley Desktop/Web Library – saved reference appears in sub-collection only.

If you cannot see a reference you have saved in a directory you are expecting, please check the version of Mendeley.
