How do I add, move, or delete folders inside a dataset?

Last updated on March 04, 2026

Folders are a way to group and logically organize the files in your dataset, in the same way that you would organize the files on your computer. You can add a maximum of 200 folders.

How do I add a folder?

From within the dataset, click New Folder by the My files field. A new folder will appear inside it.

Next, to add a name, to the New folder click the 3 dots icon in the same row and subsequently click Rename. In the dialogue box write the preferred name. To add a description, again, click the 3 dots icon in the same row and click Description. A dialogue box emerges allowing you to edit a description of the folder of up to 3000 characters.

How do I create sub-folders?

To quickly create a sub-folder simply click on an existing folder and then click New Folder. A new sub-folder will be created within the selected folder.

Note: You can create sub-folders up to 8 folders deep. You can also move a folder into another folder to make it a sub-folder. You cannot reorder folders, as these will always be sorted alphabetically/numerically.

If you need to move one or more folders into another one, then check the box next to each of the folders you wish to move, and then click Move. A dialogue box opens prompting you to select the folder you want to move the folders into. Next, click Move here. These will now be sub-folders inside the folder into which you moved them.

How do I delete a folder?

To delete a folder, simply check the box next to the desired folder and then click Delete. You will not be asked to confirm the deletion so be sure this is what you want to do.
