What are my remote access options for Knovel?

Here at Knovel, our mission is to facilitate online learning and problem solving for engineering community. Knovel is accessible to all members of your engineering community regardless of their device or location. We want to provide your students and academic staff with an overview of remote access options:

My users register with Knovel and have a Knovel Login:

• Your users who have a Knovel username / password can log in from home (or any remote location).
• Users who haven’t registered before can still register with their institutional email address. Registration / log in will be prompted if users try to access Knovel while not logged in.
• Here at Knovel, our mission is to facilitate online learning and problem solving for the engineering community.

My users access Knovel while on campus, within our network, or using the institution’s IP addresses:

• Organizations using proxy services should continue access through the proxy without issue.
• VPN access will work for remote access to Knovel.
• Knovel recognizes users by their institutional email address domain (@customerinstitution.com). All accounts should be set up with email domains when their account is created. If you have questions about your email domains, contact us via one of the options at the bottom of this page.
• Users will be prompted to register / log in if they access Knovel directly. Registering with your institutional email address will provide access.

My users access through Single Sign On (their institutional login):

• Most Single Sign On access methods allow for remote login and therefore access to Knovel remotely. Your organization’s single sign on set up determines whether remote access is allowed.
• Organizations who use Single Sign On authentication and would like to set up this access with Knovel can contact us via one of the options at the bottom of this page
