How do I save and organize content?

Knovel has the following options available to save and organize your content and searches:
- Save the following items via the My Folder panel on any page within Knovel:
- Resources
- Search Queries
- Data Search Queries
- Chapters & Sections (includes PDF and HTML text sections as well as interactive tables)
- Interactive Content
- Equations
- Create your own folders and organize your saved items.
How
Click on one of the below options to save or organize in Knovel:
- To save content, use the 'Save to My Knovel', 'Save Search' or 'Save' button you can find on all content and every search results page.
- To save an Interactive Equation, click 'Worksheet' in the top menu and then select 'Save in My Knovel'.
- To save an Interactive Graph, click 'Action' in the top-right corner and then select 'Add to My Knovel'.
- You can also click the My Folder panel from the left side toolbar from any page.
- This will open the My Folder panel.
- If the Panel is on top of content you’re using, you can drag it out of the way by grabbing it by the top bar and putting it where you want it to go.
- Within the My Folder panel you can create a new folder by opening the Folder dropdown and clicking 'Create New Folder', and then naming the new folder in the popup.
- Any existing folders you may have will also appear in this dropdown.
- Select the folder you’d like to save your item to.
- Click 'Add this Resource'.
- The resource or search will be added to your folder as the top item.
- You can then navigate to other items in the folder, or within other folders you may have created or received from others.
- The same resource or search can be added to multiple folders.
Once you save an item, all saved items appear under 'My Saved Items' in My Kovel. Within each folder you can sort by:
- The type of content: Books/ databases, Search Queries, Property Searches, Sections, Interactive Content, and Material Properties.
- When the order items were saved: New to Old or Old to New.
- Whether notes were added (comments) or the content was saved to the mobile app (Saved to Mobile).
- When you saved the item (All Time, Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, or Last 30 Days).
- Click ‘New Folder’ located above your ‘My Folders’ list.
- Enter the name of your folder in the text field of the ‘Create a folder’ window.
- Use only spaces, hyphens and underscore special characters for folder name.
- Click ‘Create’. Your new folder will appear in alphabetical order in the ‘My Folders’ list.
To move, rename or delete your folders, click on the folder name and select one of the options in the upper-right corner of your folder overview.
- From either Unfiled Items or from a specific folder, hover your mouse over the hyperlink of the desired search query, resource, content, or graph you want to move.
- Click the ‘Move this item’ icon in the horizontal list of icons.
- In the pop-up window, select the folder where you wish to move the item.
- Click ‘Move’. The item will be moved to the folder you selected.
Please note: You can also drag and drop the item to the appropriate folder under ‘My Folders’.
- From either Unfiled Items or from a specific folder, hover your mouse over the hyperlink of the desired search query, resource, content, or graph you want to copy.
- Click the ‘Copy this item’ icon in the horizontal list of icons.
- In the pop-up window, select the folder where you wish to copy the item.
- Click ‘Copy’. The item will be copied to the folder you selected.
- From either Unfiled Items or from a specific folder, hover your mouse over the hyperlink of the desired search query, resource, content, or graph you want to move.
- Click the ‘Remove this item from My Knovel’ icon in the horizontal list of icons.
- In the pop-up window, click ‘Delete’ to confirm removal.
- Hover your mouse over the hyperlink of the desired item to move/copy/delete and check the tick box.
- Repeat step 1 for all items.
- Towards the upper right of the page, click the appropriate action (Move All, Copy All, or Delete All).
- For move or copy option, select the folder where you wish to move/copy the item and click ‘Move’ or ‘i’ as appropriate.
- For delete option, click ‘Delete’ to confirm removal.
After completing these steps:
- You can share your items and folders by email or on Social Media.
