What date is used for CME?
Last updated on January 02, 2024CME credits are associated with two dates, the date of the Point of Care (POC) activity which prints on the certificate and the date the CME is submitted for credit.
The date/time information for both the POC activity and submission are captured in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), regardless of the time zone the user is in. This can result in a different date than expected to display on the CME certificate.
For example:
If a user is in the EST zone and created a POC activity at 8:00 PM EST on July 2nd, July 3rd will be printed on the certificate because the date/time stored will be July 3rd at 1:00 AM UTC.
