What can I do if I forgot my password?

You can easily reset your password if you forget it. If you cannot remember or no longer have access to the email address you used to create your account, please contact us.
How
Follow these steps to reset your password:
- Select ‘Sign in’ at the top right side of the Engineering Village page. The ‘Elsevier Sign in’ window opens with your email address pre-populated.
- Select ‘Forgot password?’ The ‘Forgotten your password?’ window opens.
- From this page, you may either reset your password or sign in with a one-time link.
- This section describes how to reset your password.
- Refer to the following section of this FAQ for instructions on how to sign in with a one-time link.
- Click ‘Reset password.’ You will receive an email note from Elsevier Identity with instructions to reset your password.
- From the email note received from Elsevier Identity, click the ‘Reset password’ button or click the password reset link. The ‘Reset your password’ window opens.
- On the ‘New password’ line, enter your new password that meets the criteria listed on the page.
- Enter your new password again on the ‘Confirm new password’ line.
- Click ‘Reset.’ Your password has been reset.
- Select ‘Sign in’ at the top right side of the Engineering Village page. The ‘Elsevier Sign in’ window opens with your email address pre-populated.
- Select ‘Forgot password?’ The ‘Forgotten your password?’ window opens.
- From this page, click ‘Sign in with a one-time link.’ You will receive an email note from Elsevier Identity with instructions to sign in with a one-time link.
- From the email note received from Elsevier Identity, click the ‘Sign in’ button or click the ‘Sign in’ link.
- You will be directly signed in to your Engineering Village account.
- You will be signed in for 30 days.
Note: Elsevier cautions against using this method to sign in to your account if you are using a shared device.
Important: The above-referenced procedures will not work for email addresses associated with a third-party profile for which Engineering Village does not store a username or a password.
