How do I obtain, change, or reset my password?

If you have not already set up a personal account, select ‘Create account’ at the top of any Engineering Village page. See How do I create an account with Engineering Village? for details of how to obtain a password when creating an account.

1. Select ‘Sign in’ at the top right side of the Engineering Village page. The ‘Elsevier Sign in’ window opens with your email address pre-populated.
2. Select ‘Forgot password?’ The ‘Forgotten your password?’ window opens.
3. From this page, you may either reset your password or sign in with a one-time link.

   • Refer to the following section of this FAQ for instructions how to sign in with a one-time link.
4. Click ‘Reset password.’ You will receive an email note from Elsevier Identity with instructions to reset your password.
5. From the email note received from Elsevier Identity, click the ‘Reset password’ button or click the password reset link. The ‘Reset your password’ window opens.
6. On the ‘New password’ line, enter your new password that meets the criteria listed on the page.
7. Enter your new password again on the ‘Confirm new password’ line.
8. Click ‘Reset.’ Your password is reset.

4. From the email note received from Elsevier Identity, click the ‘Sign in’ button or click the ‘Sign in’ link.

   • You will be directly signed in to your Engineering Village account.
   • You will be signed in for 30 days.

1. After signing into Engineering Village, select the user profile menu icon at the top right side of the page. The user profile menu opens.
2. Scroll down to select ‘Personal details.’ The ‘Sign in’ page opens.
3. Click ‘Forgot password?’ The ‘Forgotten your password?’ window opens.
4. Follow the instructions listed in the previous ‘Reset a forgotten password’ or the ‘Sign in with a one-time link’ sections of this FAQ to change your password.
