Can I submit a previously published paper to SSRN?
Last updated on December 19, 2025
At SSRN, our core mission is to empower researchers by providing a trustworthy, high-quality platform for sharing preprints and early-stage research. To strengthen trust in SSRN and better support researchers, we have implemented enhanced integrity checks across all submissions, led by our Research Integrity Team. In response to a rise in predatory publishers and AI-generated submissions in life sciences, healthcare, computer science, and engineering in particular, SSRN will no longer post finalized, published, peer-reviewed studies in these domains. Instead, we will focus our resources on hosting unpublished, high-quality preprints and early-stage research in these areas. We continue to accept published content in other areas, such as law, economics and finance. Our ongoing collaboration with the research community informs policy updates, ensuring SSRN remains a trustworthy, useful platform for scholarly communication. Posting is subject to passing our research integrity checks.
