Why is my Researcher – which I defined from multiple Scopus author profiles and requested to be merged – not reflected in the author details in My SciVal?

Once a Researcher has been defined in SciVal by merging multiple author profiles, the merged profile is immediately available for use in all modules.

At that point, the merge request still needs to be processed in the source Scopus database, which takes roughly 3-4 weeks to complete. In the meantime, SciVal uses a static publication set to define the Researcher (using the information gathered during the merge request process). As a result, the Researcher profile in My SciVal will only show the original Scopus author ID and not the merged one.

Once the author profile merge request has been completed in Scopus, an up-to-date Scopus author ID is passed to SciVal, which then updates the Researcher entity in My SciVal via the relevant weekly processingopens in new tab/window. From that point forward, any new documents added to the merged Researcher profile will also be visible in SciVal.
